Privacy Policy

The Silicon Valley Association of General Counsel Web site ("Site") collects personally identifiable information only when provided by the user, such as in requests for membership information, responses to activity invitations, etc. Otherwise, the Site does not automatically collect personally-identifiable information from visitors; data that would be automatically detected during visits (such as browser type or IP address) generally would not enable identification of the individual visitor, and would be used for internal purposes, such as compiling aggregate statistics about Site use for marketing or product development. Although these aggregate statistics might be shared with third parties, they would contain no individual information and could not be used to develop such information.

The Site does not use "cookies". Because information requested is not of a particularly sensitive nature, the Site uses no special encryption methods for receiving information from users.

Collected information may be used in connection with existing and potential new services of the Site. If such information is provided to third parties, its use will be restricted to carrying out services performed in connection with the Site. Information from third parties may be combined with the Site's collected information for these purposes. The Site may contain links to other Web sites operated by third parties; the Site is not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of such third party sites.

The Site may be required to disclose collected information to third parties for purposes other than the support of Site-user relationships, such as in connection with a corporate divestiture, or a requirement of law, regulation or other government authority.

The Site reserves the right to change this privacy policy, and will similarly post any revisions, after which continued Site use will be subject to the revised privacy policy.
